Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates (LVOY) is offering a new Tutor Training Orientation. The purpose of the Orientation is to learn more about tutoring for Literacy Volunteers. The Orientation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 6:00-7:00pm at the Geneva Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Pl., Geneva. In order to become a tutor, you must be 18 years of age, have an interest in helping adult learners, be a high school graduate (or GED), able to attend the entire training program, complete homework assignments and be willing to devote at least 2 hours per week to working with an adult learner. Tutors need not have a teaching background or have knowledge of a foreign language.
