DESCRIPTION:Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates (LVOY) is offering a new Tutor Training Orientation. The purpose of the Orientation is to learn more about tutoring for Literacy Volunteers.  The Orientation will be held on Wednesday\, October 14\, 2009 from 6:00-7:00pm at the Geneva Presbyterian Church\, 24 Park Pl.\, Geneva. \nIn order to become a tutor\, you must be 18 years of age\, have an interest in helping adult learners\, be a high school graduate (or GED)\, able to attend the entire training program\, complete homework assignments and be willing to devote at least 2 hours per week to working with an adult learner.  Tutors need not have a teaching background or have knowledge of a foreign language.\nFor more information or to register for the orientation session call LVOY at 585-396-1686 or toll free at 1-888-546-5862.
