Available Shifts

We are currently hiring for:

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Evening Shift A: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Tues – Saturday | Sunday | Monday, Tuesday & Friday | Sunday – Monday | Friday – Saturday)
  • Evening Shift B: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
  • Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM (Thursday – Friday | Thursday – Saturday)

Weekday and weekend opportunities are available.

What You'll Do

As a DSP, you'll provide compassionate support that helps individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, dining, and personal hygiene
  • Supporting mobility needs, including transfers, ambulation, and wheelchair assistance
  • Encouraging independence, skill-building, and personal growth
  • Assisting individuals in participating in community activities, appointments, recreation, shopping, and social events
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
  • Administering medications after certification and maintaining required certifications
  • Completing required documentation and records in accordance with OPWDD and agency requirements
  • Following individualized support plans, nursing care plans, behavior support plans, and safety protocols
  • Participating in required training courses, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Valid New York State Driver's License required
  • Ability to pass required background screenings in accordance with OPWDD regulations
  • Ability to obtain required tuberculosis testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including CPR, First Aid, and SCIP-R (provided through paid training)

No prior DSP experience required. We will train the right candidates who have a passion for helping others.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting individuals as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a hands-on caregiving environment
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay: $16.95 - $18.00 per hour
