Position Overview Finger Lakes Community Development Corporation is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic II. This semi-skilled role involves performing routine mechanical, grounds, and structural building maintenance tasks. Work is conducted under general or immediate supervision depending on the task. The Maintenance Mechanic handles day-to-day repairs, maintenance inspections, and daily work orders, reporting directly to the Site Manager in consultation with the Geneva Housing Authority Maintenance Supervisor.

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday

• Availability: On-call duties required

Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance & Janitorial: Perform routine daily janitorial tasks throughout facilities; complete scheduled preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds.

• Repairs & Trades Support: Carry out semi-skilled masonry, carpentry, electrical, and painting tasks (interior/exterior); repair windows, doors, floors, and walls.

• Plumbing & Mechanical: Install and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, baths); clean and assist in repairing boilers, pumps, heaters, pipelines, valves, and traps.

• Electrical: Install and repair wiring systems, electrical fixtures, and equipment.

• Groundskeeping & Equipment Operation: Manage grounds maintenance including tree, shrub, and lawn trimming; clear snow and ice; operate trucks, cars, air compressors, snowblowers, lawnmowers, and other motorized equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 1 year of maintenance experience (Preferred).

• License: Valid Driver's License (Required).

• Skills: Working knowledge of modern building and grounds maintenance practices, materials, and tools; strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
