Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a full-time DSP Trainer. The Direct Support Professional Trainer is responsible for assisting Direct Support Professionals in successfully applying the knowledge and skills gained in classroom-based training to their day-to-day work.  This role ensures that learning is effectively transferred into practice by providing guidance, coaching, and real-time support in the work setting.  As a subject matter expert, mentor, and coach, the DSP Trainer reinforces organizational standards, state regulations, and best practices while promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth for staff supporting individuals supported by Mozaic.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery
Assists newly hired DSP's in applying their newly acquired skills obtained from the DSP Skills training.
Explains new concepts while reinforcing prior training, and provides ongoing skills development opportunities for employees.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all training meets state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Maintain accurate training records and monitor DSP certification status.
Mentorship & Support
Serve as a resource and coach for DSPs, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting challenges in the field.
Collaborate with supervisors to identify training needs and performance gaps.
Program Evaluation & Improvement
Assess training effectiveness through feedback, observation, and performance metrics.
Continuously update training materials to reflect current regulations and industry trends.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience as a DSP or in a similar role within IDD services.
Prior experience in training, coaching, or staff development strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
