Join Robert Cassetti of the Corning Museum of Glass and a former glass designer with Steuben Glass in New York City to learn about this handmade art glass, once the epitome of American craftsmanship. Renowned world-wide for its quality and clarity, the pure-lead crystal became a choice gift for brides and foreign dignitaries in the 20th century. The glass was sold at the company’s store on Madison Avenue and at the Corning Museum of Glass. The Steuben Glass Company went out of business in 2011, a victim of the recession and changing tastes in luxury goods.
