Have you ever heard the drums echo across Seneca Lake?  The Native American Indians believed these sounds to be the drumming of the ancestor and scientists theorize the drumming sound may be the result of methane gas bubbling up from cracks in the bottom of the lake. On Friday night, April 10th you are guaranteed to hear the sounds of drums at the north end of Seneca Lake!  Two Herons Drum Circle is hosting a Drumming Workshop to benefit Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association at the Ramada Geneva Lakefront from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, registration desk opens at 6:30 pm. 

 

Jim Donovan, an award winning educator and founding member of the multi-platinum selling band Rusted Root, is returning to Geneva to facilitate his new World Drumming Workshop. Donovan’s workshop offers a step­-by-­step learning experience, beginners are warmly welcomed, all that is required is a willingness to try. Participants will learn and play exciting traditional rhythms and songs from countries all over the world such as Guinea, Ghana, Congo, Brazil, Senegal, Nigeria and the Americas.
