Seneca Community Players holds open auditions for its newest stage production, "The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?," a unsettling, challenging, outrageously funny play. Parts are available for three men and one woman. Interested individuals should come ready to read. No additional preparation is required; scripts will be provided. Participants should bring a list of potential rehearsal conflict dates.
Edward Albee's "The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?" tells the story of Martin, a world-class architect with a loving wife, a devoted son, and a secret so extreme it threatens to destroy them all. An award- winning drama that pushes the limits of love past the point of no return, "The Goat" is for mature audiences only and contains adult themes, sexual references and strong language.
Actors are needed for the following roles: "Martin" - 50, a successful architect and loving family man; "Stevie" - 40-50, a smart, loving wife and mother; "Billy" - 17, the sensitive gay son of Martin & Stevie; and "Ross" - 50, a documentary film maker and best friend of Martin.
"The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?" will be performed Feb. 27, 28, and March 1, 6 and 7 in the Delavan Theatre on the New York Chiropractic College campus in Seneca Falls at 7 p.m., 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, and $8 for students with I.D.
Starting in February, they may be purchased at WomanMade Products in Seneca Falls, Area Records and Music in Geneva, by calling 315-568-9364, and online at www.SenecaCommunityPlayers.org. Contact director Becky Bly at 315-651-5814 for more information.
