Conservator Susan Blakney of West Lake Conservators will present an overview of the life-extending treatments that conservators use to protect and preserve objects. She will draw from her more than 30 years of professional experience in this specialized field and share examples of a variety of conservation treatments. The program will highlight the causes of deterioration and the preservation measures conservators undertake to cure existing problems and prevent damage.
