Project Vote Smart (PVS) is a non-partisan, non-profit political research organization, founded by former Presidents Carter and Ford, among others. PVS provides free information on every candidate and elected official from the President to local government.
PVS is coming to Geneva, NY with our national bus tour to launch the nation's first Voter Self-Defense system, a gift to our fellow Americans. We will be at Hobart and William Smith Colleges at the Scandling Center on Pulteney Street on November 8th, from 10:00 to 3:00 pm. Presentations will be given on the hour and half hour.
The Voter Self-Defense system provides information on a candidate's voting record, speeches, campaign finance information and interest group ratings.
All information is without bias or partisan slant and is available free of charge to anyone through our web site at www.votesmart.org, our toll-free voter's hotline at 1-888-VOTE-SMART (1-888-868-3762) and through our Voter's Self-Defense manual which we will be distributing on the bus tour.
Visitors to our bus will begin their experience by watching a short video, in our state of the art movie theater located on the bus. The film will be about Project Vote Smart, and the services we provide. Following the video presentation, guests on the bus will be able to use a laptop computer, and will be taught the different methods that they can use to defend themselves against the misleading claims that they will likely be bombarded with in 2008.
