Though it may still be cold and snowy outside, it's not too early to start thinking about the Smith Opera House's annual "Medley of Tastes" fundraiser. The 2008 food and wine tasting event is scheduled for 5-7:30 p.m., Monday, June 23 at Houghton House on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus in Geneva.
Tickets go on sale January 16 at noon.Limited to 400, tickets are $30 for members of The Smith and $35 for non-members. This event has completely sold-out for the past four years. Tickets may be purchased only at The Smith box office or by calling 315-781-LIVE or toll-free 866-355-LIVE, weekdays between 9 a.m and 4 p.m. The Smith accepts Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
One of the regions premier events of its kind, nearly fifty vendors from restaurants and wineries throughout the Finger Lakes are expected to share their finest samples or tastes with event attendees. In addition to admission to the event, all patrons receive a complimentary limited edition 2008 "Medley of Tastes" wine glass and buffet tray. There will also be exciting raffle opportunities featuring gift certificates and products from Finger Lakes region restaurants and wineries and the opportunity to vote for best "Food," "Wine" and "Desert" tastes.
All proceeds generated by the "Medley of Tastes" are used to support the family and childrens programming at the historic Geneva landmark.
