Waste Gasification, Help or Hindrance?
Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church in Geneva
Walter Bowyer, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry and Environmental Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, will speak on waste gasification, the benefits and the risks as they are known and how such a strategy complements or conflicts with the League of Women Voters national position on waste management. The LWV supports policies to reduce the generation and promote the reuse and recycling of solid and hazardous waste. The Geneva League of Women Voters is working to revise its position on solid waste, the last one completed in 1986.
