The November Lunch with the League will be held on Tuesday, NOVEMBER 9th. We will be discussing the issue of redistricting using material prepared by the NYS League," The Case for Redistricting Reform in NYS". Redistricting means redrawing the political boundaries for US Congressional and NYS Legislature voting districts. Redistricting occurs every 10 years following the census. The NYS LWV has studied this issue and has come to the conclusion that there are problems with the current process. Legislature-drawn voting districts result in uncompetitive districts that tend to favor one political party over another. The LWV is proposing an Independent Redistricting Commission to draw new district lines which would assure more equitable democratic elections. Come learn about this important voter issue.
And Don't Forget to Vote on Tuesday, November 2nd!
