On April 23 at 7:00 p.m. the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes will meet at Rose Hill Mansion, 3373 Rt. 96A, Geneva, where Alice Askins will present a program on Lighting Rose Hill Mansion1809-1900. The public is welcome and there is no charge.
The program will be a stroll through Rose Hill Mansion with special attention paid to the ways it has been lit over the years. The house has examples of lighting devices from candles to electricity, and they will be discussed in the context of Geneva and Rose Hill in particular.
Alice Askins is Education Coordinator for Rose Hill, a property of the Geneva Historical Society. She developed a “behind the scenes” tour of Rose Hill last season and is currently drafting a two-house tour of the Johnston House and Rose Hill with a focus on women's experience.
