May is Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month and in efforts to raise awareness the Health Education Team from Finger Lakes Community Health, is planning Let’s Talk Community Night on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013. Their R.E.A.L Peer Educators from Geneva High School will be helping them host the event for the community. Their Peer Educators are a group of High School students who participated in a summer training program and who are seen as resources and advocates for their peers. R.E.A.L. stands for Responsible for Every Action in Life!
Finger Lakes Community Health is inviting both parents and youth to attend this event; there will be a short video, discussion on teen pregnancy prevention and there will be giving Health Center tours! Dee Brezinsky, FNP will also be helping out; she’ll be speaking about current trends, Gardasil and talking tips for parents.
Please join the Education Team from 5:30 to 7:00 in the waiting room of Geneva Community Health to talk about teen pregnancy prevention. This event is free and open to the public (there will be food and door prizes), so please invite anyone that may be interested.
