Imagine spending time next August on board a luxury liner as you cruise along Alaska’s Inside Passage. The Geneva Historical Society and First Choice Travel are offering a seven-day cruise to Alaska on the Carnival Legend from August 17 to August 25, 2015. Leaving from Seattle, Washington, ports of call are Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria. In Skagway explore the city’s role in the Klondike Gold Rush, enjoy a ride on the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad or take a dog sledding excursion. From whitewater rafting down the Mendenhall Glacier to a stop at the famous Red Dog Saloon to a city tour, there are a variety of activities to fill an afternoon in Juneau. Best known for its native culture and salmon fishing, Ketchikan has the largest collection of totem poles for viewing at the Totem Heritage Center. Victoria offers historic sites and groomed gardens like Butchart Gardens and Craigdarroch Castle. The trip includes two fun days at sea on the Legend, enjoying its casino, shows, and breathtaking views of Alaska.
Starting at $2,189 per person, the trip includes round-trip air from Rochester to Seattle, one night pre-cruise accommodation in Seattle, seven night cruise with meals and entertainment on ship, government taxes and fees. More information about this exciting excursion will be available at an informational meeting on November 18 at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm at the Geneva History Museum, 543 South Main Street. If you are planning to attend either of the meetings, please call the Historical Society at 315-789-5151.
