The Geneva Theatre Guild presents Neil Simon’s classic comedy, The Odd Couple, on November 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th at 7:30 PM and Sunday November 4th and 11th at 2:00 PM at the Pat Collins Black Box Theater at the Geneva Community Center, 160 Carter Rd.
Local actor Steve Mitchell portrays the slobbish Oscar Madison, who agrees to let his neurotic neat-freak pal, Felix Ungar (played by Geneva resident Patrick Fegley) move into his apartment. However, it’s not long before they are driving each other crazy, and hilarity ensues. Director Terri Knight-Miller has selected other local performers (John King, Dan Papperman, Jordan Youngmann, Joshua Mansman, Shannon Savard, and Ana Schavoir) to round out the cast, which includes Oscar’s poker buddies and his neighbors the Pigeon sisters.
“One of the special things about Geneva Theatre Guild is that it puts on a variety of shows, which offer parts for all types of actors,” said producer Mariah Ernhout-Fegley. “The Odd Couple is perfect to showcase the great comedic timing of Pat and Steve, who have acted together many times before. But there are also funny roles for several other actors, including some Hobart/William Smith students who have joined us for this show.”
The November 2nd performance is part of an opening night fundraising gala to benefit the Geneva Community Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Geneva, so tickets for that night are $25, which includes the Gala at 6 PM with refreshments sponsored by Billsboro Winery, Opus Espresso & Wine Bar, Torrey Park Grill and Club 86, and the show at 7:30 PM.
All other tickets for The Odd Couple are $10 for Students/Seniors and $12 General Admission. Tickets are available at Area Records, The UPS Store, and online at www.GTGlive.org, as well as at the door.
