Election day is Tuesday, November 2 with polls opening at 6:00 am and closing at 9:00 pm. On Wednesday, October 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, the League of Women Voters of Geneva will host a candidates? forum at North St. School auditorium on North St. in Geneva. The Ontario County Board of Elections will have the new voting machine/optical scanner available.
Candidates for the following public offices have been invited to participate: Supreme Court Judge (7th District), US Representative (District 24), NYS Senate (54th District), NYS Assembly (District 129), Ontario County Sheriff, Ontario County Treasurer and Ontario County Coroner. Each will have the opportunity to give a brief opening statement. Questions will come from the audience, screened by members of the League. Each candidate will provide a short closing statement.
The League is non-partisan and does not endorse individual candidates. We work to create an informed and politically active citizenry, and to promote registration and voting. The public is encouraged to attend. Contact Mary Lee Bourbeau for more information at 789-7214.
