Every year, the U.S. Travel Association works to promote the value of tourism during National Tourism Week (May 5-13) and encourages local communities to help in the cause. This year, the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection is sponsoring a variety of community cleanup projects to help the area get ready for visitors coming to Ontario County during the spring and summer seasons. The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Finger Lakes Visitors Connection and the Geneva Business Improvement District for a Geneva Lakeside Cleanup project.
The cleanup is May 8th, 9 am to noon and will involve the area running from the Ramada Geneva Lakefront to Jennings Beach. The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce will be out with the Visitors Connection and the Business Improvement District making sure the lakeside looks its best! If you would like to join us for the cleanup, we would greatly appreciate it.
The Visitors Connection will be sending out a press release after the cleanup speaking to the strong community involvement in supporting the travel and tourism industry in Ontario County.
If you are interested in joining the Geneva Lakeside cleanup, you can register at visitfingerlakes.com/nationaltourismweek. If you have questions, call AJ Shear at the Visitors Connection, 585-394-3915.
