The Geneva Center of Concern is sponsoring a FREE three hour workshop called Shopping Matters® starting at 4:30 PM on Thursday, August 22nd, 2013. The workshop is designed to help teach families how to make healthy food choices on a limited budget. The workshop includes a couponing ‘how to’ and a hands on grocery store tour for a dynamic learning experience that enables participants to make real changes to their food and shopping habits. During the store tour participants will learn how to compare unit prices, purchase fruits and vegetables on a budget, compare food labels and pick whole grains. In addition to the learning objectives, participants will receive several special gifts including a gift card which can be used to apply their new shopping skills. The Shopping Matters® workshop will begin at Trinity Church, 520 S Main St, Geneva, with travel to the Geneva Wegman’s for the hands on shopping tour. This free community workshop is designed for low income families. Registration is required so call Cheryl or Barb today at the Geneva Center of Concern, 315-789-1117 to find out more information and qualify for enrollment! Spanish speaking assistance available Monday or Thursday from 10 AM to 1 PM, ask for Jose.
