The Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union presents an art exhibition by local artist, Rebecca Patrick. Her work will be on display at the FLFCU Main Office (Geneva Branch) lobby and Loan Department from April 21st - July 18th. An opening reception with the artist will be held Friday, May 2nd at the Credit Union’s Main Office from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Light refreshments, including a wine tasting by Fulkerson Winery, will be provided.
Rebecca began her journey in 2004 while attending Cazenovia College, located in the Finger Lakes region. While earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, she started to explore with abstract painting in her free time. She never thought her love of art would turn into an everyday enjoyment that it is today as she expanded into a place of true passion, with floral impressionism. Today, Rebecca works as a freelance graphic designer and enjoys the balance of digital design and the physical creation of painting. She grew up Seneca Falls, NY and expanded her artist career while living in Austin, TX for 5 years and now currently lives in Canandaigua, NY with her husband, David. Rebecca’s work is currently shown at ART on 5th Gallery in Austin, TX and also at Main Street Arts Gallery in Clifton Springs, NY.
Her inspiration derives from her fascination with the new life that Spring brings, with bursts of color, fields of spring flowers covering the landscape. Her paintings start with a color idea, then evolve into compositions in which color and fluidity are the primary subjects. All of her work is created with acrylics and various palette knives. To Rebecca, art is a synthesis of her personal feelings, the subject and colors that inspire her materials and techniques.
All the paintings that are on display are available for purchase. If you see something you like, please contact the artist directly at tewks219@gmail.com or by phone at (512) 809-4442. Stop in the Credit Union to see the exhibit, which will continue to be on display through July 18th. After that date, another artist’s exhibit will be displayed.
