"The Veterans Field of Honor"
The New York State Department of Parks and Recreation at Seneca Lake State Park and a local citizens committee have joined forces to host “The Veterans Field of Honor” November 9th-12th at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, NY to honor our past, present and future Veterans.
The Veterans Field of Honor will consist of full size American flags posted on 8 foot poles aligned in perfect rows to represent the Veterans who have served or are currently serving our country.
This event will offer the general public a place to honor our Veterans over a 4 day period. The public is invited to sponsor a flag in honor or memory of a Veteran or active duty soldier living or deceased. At the end of the event the flag will be returned to the sponsor for their own use.
A daily program of events is scheduled each day of the Veterans Field of Honor to include ceremonial color guard for flag raising, guest speakers, choral groups, and reading of the names for whom flags are posted.
To sponsor a flag in “memory” or “honor” of a loved one visit www.healingfield.org/geneva07 or telephone 315-729-6891. To volunteer or sponsor this event please contact Julie (Franco) Bellone, Project Chairman at 315-729-6891 or Carol Stenberg at 315-539-8542.
