On Saturday, August 11, 2012 the Geneva Historical Society will hold the second biennial Farm Heritage Day at the 1822 Johnston House in Fayette. At this event visitors will have the chance to sample 19^th-century farm life through games, period crafts and farming activities, presentations, and animal exhibits. The activities will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Activities will include crafts for kids, operating antique farm machinery, and testing milking skills on an artificial milk cow. Presentations on music, clothing, spinning, and the 19th-century science of phrenology—interpreting your character through the bumps on your head—will occur throughout the day. The Johnston House and Weaver Drain Tile Museum will be open throughout the event. Farm Heritage Day is free and open to the public and will take place out of doors, rain or shine. The Johnston House is owned and operated by the Geneva Historical Society and is located at 3523 East Lake Road at Route 96A near Geneva.
