Just in time for the holidays, Seneca Community Players presents its newest stage production, "Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)." This mad-cap romp through all things Yule, will be staged at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 6, and at 2:00 on Sunday, Dec. 7 in the Delavan Theatre on the New York Chiropractic College campus, Route 89. Directed by Jennifer Mitchell, the show is produced locally by Christine Moulton and Amanda Bishop.
Instead of performing Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic for the umpteenth time, three actors -- Pat Fegley, John Norton and Dan Papperman -- decide to hilariously send-up all the Christmas tales, including interpretations of Christmas traditions from around the world and take-offs on seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture. "Every Christmas Story Ever Told" takes a multitude of recognized holiday “classics” and turns them upside down, presenting them in a whole new, and quite hilarious way. Timeless works such as “A Christmas Carol” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” along with holiday staples such as Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and fruitcake are all viewed in a fresh, new way that analyzes the holiday while at the same time parodying it. Complete with reindeer, grumpy grinches, talking snowmen and zany audience participation, this is a zany, holiday classic for the whole family. The play was written by Michael Carleton, James Fitzgerald and John K. Alvarez.
Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
