“Civil War Medical Service: Local Field Nurses and Hospitals” will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 7:30 p.m., as part of the Geneva Historical Society’s fall lecture series marking the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Presenter Robert Dickson, Archivist of the Baker-Cederberg Medical Museum and Archives in Rochester, will share the impact of the war on hospital creation and look at how military and civilian hospitals filled their needs for medical personnel. Vicki Profitt, a board member of Historic Pittsford and local researcher, will share her research into the lives and work of Rochester area Civil War field nurses.
