Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes will be holding it?s fourth Empty Bowls Event. This unique fund raising concept will coincide with World Hunger week. The public is invited to be a part of this event and help raise needed funds for the most vulnerable children and families in Ontario, Seneca, Yates and Cayuga counties.
Empty Bowls began in a Michigan High School classroom and has become a popular event to raise awareness of the effects of hunger and food insecurity. This event has also become a successful fund raising tool that provides essential financial support for helping people in need. Participants learn about local anti-poverty efforts and walk away with a commemorative Empty Bowl that serves as a reminder that hunger does indeed exist in our community.
