Literacy Volunteers of Ontario County (LVOC) is offering Tutor Orientation to introduce people to the Literacy Volunteers organization and the requirements and qualities needed to become a tutor.
Tuesday, February 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Geneva Public Library located at 244 Main Street in Geneva.
In order to become a tutor, you must be at least 18 years of age, have an interest in helping adult students to learn, be a high school graduate (or GED), be able to attend the entire training program and complete homework assignments and be willing to devote at least 2 hours per week to working with an adult student. Tutors need not have a teaching background or have knowledge of a foreign language.
