The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes will host a program on The Historic Photographs of P.B. Oakley on Thursday> Jan. 23 at 7:00 PM. at the Geneva Historical Society, 543 South Main Street, Geneva. The speaker, John Marks, is curator of the Geneva Historical Society.
P.B. Oakley (1894-1982) began his photojournalism career with the Geneva Times, then covered Geneva and Ontario County for the Syracuse Herald Journal from 1939 to 1971. He also had several side jobs, including police photographer for the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board. Oakley's many jobs and interests created an archive of Geneva's history that ranged from cute babies to murder scenes.
The public is welcome and admission is free.
