A program on Antique Fishing Collectibles is the topic of the March meeting of the Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes. It will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Geneva Historical Society, 543 S. Main St. in Geneva. The program will be presented by Steve Hays, Region I Vice President of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club and Board of Trustees member of Historic Palmyra. All are welcome and admission is free.
Steve Hays has been collecting since the 1960s. His program will include a display from his personal collection with an interactive presentation covering the history and progression of tackle manufacturing and collecting. He will give a general overview of the collecting/antique marketplace, researching, networking, storage considerations, and how to value your collectibles. Attendees are invited to bring fishing items to share and obtain verbal evaluations.
Everyone is sure to find this program interesting and entertaining as Hays will share information that is of value to those that love anything to do with history and collecting. Refreshments will be served following the program.
