DESCRIPTION:Normal\n  0\n  \n \n\n      Steuben Glass and Samuel Hawkes: A Personal Perspective will be presented by Jane Levatino on Thursday\, March 26\, 2015 at the Geneva History Museum\, 543 S. Main Street. The public is welcome and admission is free.\n\n     Jane Levatino will provide a personal perspective on her grandfather Samuel Hawkes\, who was co-founder of the Steuben Glass Works in 1903 with his father\, T.G. Hawkes\, and Frederick Carder. Levatino gives us an account of growing up as an eye witness to a successful American industry and businessman. Additionally\, her great-grandfather's business\, T.G Hawkes & Company of Corning\, was one of the nation's largest makers of glass at the turn of the 20th century. \n\n     Levatino is a resident of the Finger Lakes and a member of the American Cut Glass Association and the Eastern Lakes Chapter of the Association.\n\n          The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes includes residents of the Finger Lakes with a common interest in antiques\, collecting and local history. Programming includes lectures\, demonstrations and occasional visits to local history sites.
