DESCRIPTION:The Pointes of Faith Dancers\, Inc. is a non-profit professional dance company\, registered as a charitable organization in New York State. They have been in existence since November of 2000 and have performed over 37 inspirational full length concerts throughout New York State and Pennsylvania. The company?s founder\, artistic director\, choreographer\, principal dancer\, and story writer\, Rachael Platt\, holds a BPS in dance performance with concentrations in ballet and modern. Her inspirational ballets and modern dance narratives are based on Biblical themes and personal experience. In 2004\, the company received a New York State Council on the Arts DEC Grant for seven performances throughout the Finger Lakes area.\n Part I of ?Victory? (a ballet and modern dance concert) is entitled\,?The Shulamite Woman\, A Call to Love? and is based on the ?Song of Solomon?.Part II is entitled ?Rachael?s Testimony? and deals with her personal victories over childhood and adult fears and hurts\, sometimes due to deception and an abusive relationship.\n ?Victory? appeals to all audiences from ages 5-105. Past audiences have walked away delighted\, ?The whole concert was beautiful and inspirational. I was very impressed."\; "It will fill your heart and soul with gladness and peace. Each piece had a different feel and expression."\; "The message is clear\; the performers are passionate and strong."\; "I was truly blessed -- so much variety and very thought provoking."\; "I would recommend this to friends both young and old..?\; ?I was reminded of how much I enjoy dance and how deeply the dances can express the stories they tell." Erin Tomb (a free lance writer)\, after having seen this year?s July 21 performance at the Corning Museum of Glass Auditorium\, wrote\, ?Someone once said that the classics (he was speaking of books\, but in this case\, dance) should be enjoyed at different seasons in your life\; for example\, a book you enjoyed when you were a child should be read again when you're a teenager\, young adult\, and so on. And I can't help feeling that way about your performance. This was the third time I've seen it and not only do I enjoy it more each time I see it\, but I have come away with something different each time\, too. May God bless you as you have blessed us! ? \n The dancers for this concert besides Rachael Platt are Rebecca Morningstar (BFA in Dance specializing in choreography of literature)\, Keisha Laren Clarke (BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography)and Douglas Platt II (BS) with apprentices Rebecca & Emma Andrew and Lauren Murray. Some of the music was composed especially for the Pointes by Jonathan Rabson (BA and MA in Music Composition).
