SUMMARY:Living with Diabetes Educational Class at Geneva General Hospital
DESCRIPTION:Finger Lakes Health's "Living with Diabetes" is designed to educate people with diabetes\, their families and caregivers about nutritional management\, exercise\, medications\, blood glucose monitoring\, prevention of complications\, coping skills and problem solving. The course curriculum is approved by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. A certified diabetes educator and a registered dietitian teach the class. Class materials\, glucose meters\, beverages and lunch will be provided. Each registrant is welcome to bring a support person at no additional charge.\n\n	The class is offered quarterly at the Geneva General Hospital campus. The cost of the course is covered by Medicare\, Medicaid and most insurances\; a co-pay charge may apply depending on individual insurance plans.\n\n	In addition to the diabetes course\, Finger Lakes Health offers Individual Diabetes Education and free Diabetes Support Groups. The Individual Diabetes Education provides personal instruction on glucose monitoring\, insulin injection\, medications\, individualized meal plans nutrition\, diabetes during pregnancy and general diabetes management.\n\n	For further information about any of the diabetes programs\, call (315) 787-4006 or visit Finger Lakes Health's website and click on Calendar of Events at www.flhealth.org.
