DESCRIPTION:The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes hosts a program on Women's Painted Furniture 1790-1830: American Schoolgirl Art on Thursday\, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the Geneva Historical Society\, 543 S. Main Street. The speaker will be Betsy Krieg Salm. \n\n	Salm is an ornamental artist and author whose definitive book on Women's Painted Furniture documents the socioeconomic\, cultural\, and aesthetic history of this form of art\, which includes such items as sewing and work boxes\, screens\, and tables. Her book describes the processes\, materials and techniques used by the women artists during the early years of our country.\n\n	The public is welcome and admission is free. Refreshments will be served following the program. Salm will be available to sign copies of her book you may have or wish to purchase.\n\n	The Antiques Club of the Finger Lakes includes residents of the Finger Lakes with a common interest in antiques\, collecting and local history. Programming includes lectures\, demonstrations and occasional visits to local history sites.
